Job Summary

US Water Services Corporation is a leading water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering, and construction services. We are seeking a highly skilled Water Plant Operator to join our team in a water treatment facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain water treatment, processing, and testing equipment to purify water to meet permit and operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose operational problems and take corrective action per procedure and process knowledge.
  • Monitor flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures, and related controls through instrument panels and programmable logic control units in assigned areas.
  • Monitor and record operating conditions, observations, and data in area shift logs.
  • Ensure conformance to process specifications and verify and report suspected malfunctions and variances to the supervisor.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and maintenance-related items as assigned.
  • Perform field laboratory tests (chemical and physical) to pace chemical dosages for efficient process control.
  • Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are consistently achieved, including strict compliance.
Requirements
  • Active Florida Class C Water Operator's License at a minimum.
  • One (1) year of experience relating to the construction, repair, and maintenance of water collection or treatment systems, including the operation of related maintenance equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of water pipe installation, connection, and repair.
  • Considerable knowledge of water treatment plant operation and maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Class C State Driver's License.
  • Ability to interpret specific chemical and biological analyses.
  • Ability to guide, direct, and motivate employees.
  • Ability to organize and supervise the activities of various crews performing construction and maintenance work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
