Job Summary

**Job Overview**

The City of Riviera Beach is seeking a highly skilled Chief Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our water treatment plant operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the City's water treatment plant and well system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of machinery, pumps, motors, and other equipment used in the operation of water treatment plants and/or raw water wells.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment failure.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless operation of the water treatment plant and well system.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational school graduate.
  • At least six (6) years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment in the operation of water treatment plants, raw water wells, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience is required.
  • A valid State of Florida CDL Class 'B' license driver's license is required.
  • Water distribution systems level 3 license is highly desirable.
