About the Role

As a Building Management Systems Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to manage and enhance Building Management Systems (BMS) within our manufacturing facility. Your key objectives will include ensuring compliance with AESC standards, optimizing the operation of facility control systems, improving energy efficiency, and maintaining a secure building automation framework.

What You Will Do

As an integral member of the engineering team, your duties will include:

BMS Operation and Enhancement:

Support local teams in the daily management of Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure peak performance.

Implement sophisticated control strategies and algorithms to improve energy efficiency and sustainability through BMS controls.

Conduct regular evaluations using data analytics to pinpoint opportunities for system enhancement and optimization.

System Integration and Advancement:

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate BMS with other facility systems, including compressed air, cooling water, HVAC, lighting, security, fire suppression, and manufacturing equipment.

Engage in the development and implementation of new BMS features and functionalities, such as advanced monitoring and predictive maintenance capabilities.

Monitoring and Analysis:

Establish and uphold advanced monitoring protocols, including real-time analytics and machine learning, to assess BMS performance, energy usage, and predictive maintenance requirements.

Produce comprehensive reports on system efficiency, highlighting trends, anomalies, and areas for enhancement.

Vendor and Supplier Coordination:

Lead interactions with external suppliers and vendors for BMS equipment, ensuring the acquisition of state-of-the-art components.

Collaborate on the installation, integration, commissioning, and maintenance of BMS hardware and software, staying updated on the latest technological advancements in the industry.

Regulatory Adherence:

Remain informed about emerging standards and regulations related to BMS controls, ensuring the facility's compliance.

Implement advanced features to enhance safety and environmental regulations in BMS operations.

What You Need

A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.

5+ years of practical experience in the design, implementation, and optimization of Building Management Systems in a manufacturing context.

Thorough knowledge of BMS hardware and software, with expertise in advanced control strategies, machine learning applications, and system integration.

Familiarity with protocols such as BACnet, ModbusTCP, EthernetIP, Profinet, and OPC for seamless communication between BMS and other systems.

Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in BMS systems, including Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text, Sequential Function Chart (SFC), IEC Standard, JSON.

Experience with advanced diagnostic tools, data analytics platforms, and machine learning algorithms for predictive maintenance and anomaly detection.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices related to BMS security.

Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience with Siemens and Ignition is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing facility characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
