Job Description Summary

The School of Kinesiology at Auburn University is seeking a highly qualified Exercise Physiologist to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor. This is a tenure-track position that will begin no sooner than January 2025 and no later than August 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Develop or augment national and international recognition for the School of Kinesiology's research program in exercise physiology.
  • Engage in rigorous research resulting in scholarly publications, preferably peer-reviewed journal articles in prestigious outlets.
  • Teach undergraduate, master's, and doctoral level courses in exercise physiology at an excellent level.
  • Recruit, advise, mentor, and train graduate students.
  • Direct student research, including projects, theses, and dissertations.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of curricular changes for the program and School.
  • Provide institutional service as assigned by the School Director.
  • Engage in professional service within the discipline and/or community service.
Requirements
  • Earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physiology, or related field by start date.
  • Postdoctoral training or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of accomplishment or potential in grant scholarship and external funding.
  • Strong publication record.
  • Evidence of innovative research.
  • Experience or demonstrated potential to teach graduate courses within the program's degree offerings.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Background or interest in fostering diversity and inclusive excellence.
  • Interest in collaboration.
  • Commitment to the values and priorities of the College of Education.
Desired Qualifications
  • Evidence of ability to effectively advise, engage, and mentor masters and PhD students.
  • Active participant in pertinent professional organizations.
