Physiologist II

Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled Physiologist II to join our team in Auburn, California.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Physiologist II to work in our cardiac rehabilitation department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the safety of patients during therapeutic exercise, monitoring the use of equipment, and designing exercise programs to meet the special health needs of each patient.

• Assess the safety of patients during therapeutic exercise
• Monitor the use of equipment
• Design exercise programs to meet the special health needs of each patient
• Work with healthcare professionals to design exercise programs
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals through the electronic medical record

• Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology or a related field
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Physiologist certification preferred
• 2 years of experience in an outpatient care setting, performing exercise procedures on patients
• 2 years of experience in applying principles of exercise physiology for fitness acquisition

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
• Knowledge of exercise testing, exercise equipment, and quality control
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to design, implement, and supervise individualized exercise prescriptions
