Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Technician to join our team at Butler Aerospace & Defense. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for fabricating, testing, and repairing complex engineering units and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and fabricate printed circuit boards (PCBs), harnesses, and mechanical assemblies to meet engineering specifications.
  • Test and troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to verify performance and functionality.
  • Oversee and support qualification tests, including vibration, thermal, EMI/EMC testing.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Manage and maintain engineering inventory, including test equipment and calibration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform 5S activities to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience working directly with engineers in a similar role.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in soldering SMD and through-hole components to JSTD-001 standards.
  • Experience operating various test equipment and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Familiarity with safely working with high-voltage and high-current systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in engineering software tools.
