Job Summary

The University of New Mexico College of Nursing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Program Specialist to support the execution of healthcare simulation events and administrative operations of the simulation centers. The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Manager to coordinate, set up, and deliver clinical skills labs, as well as assist with simulation activities using various technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute healthcare simulation events, including setup, implementation, and delivery of clinical skills labs.
  • Assist with simulation activities using various technologies, such as computers, audio-visual equipment, medical equipment, and simulation software.
  • Maintain inventory and order lab supplies to ensure successful, safe, and academically appropriate clinical education.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop and implement simulation programs and activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to students, faculty, and staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience working in a health-related and/or academic environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical and clinical care concepts and terminology preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and multiple priorities. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. The position requires flexibility in hours and travel, as well as the ability to lift average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for more than four hours per day.
