Position Overview

Noblis is in search of experienced Senior Aeronautical Engineers to enhance the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Systems and Surveillance Services divisions within the Program Management Organization (PMO).

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize extensive and specialized experience across a variety of aerospace functions and challenges.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of air traffic management initiatives and system functionalities.
  • Coordinate diverse stakeholder interests to tackle intricate technical and programmatic aviation challenges.
  • Employ advanced algorithms and data analytics to refine traffic management processes.
  • Contribute to the conception, development, and implementation of innovative systems that bolster terminal operations, enhance safety, and minimize delays.
  • Conduct specialized engineering tasks to scrutinize complex datasets utilizing tailored software applications.
  • Formulate, coordinate, and execute solutions pertinent to effective program realization.
  • Design and assess components and systems for aircraft, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulatory mandates.
  • Perform experimental evaluations, analyze results, and compile comprehensive reports on findings and project advancements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify and resolve complex aeronautical challenges.
  • Enhance existing engineering processes by integrating cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including formal test plans, reports, and other relevant materials in support of ground and flight testing for various aircraft configurations.
  • Engage in project discussions and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an FAA background investigation/verification with a favorable final suitability determination.
  • Strong grasp of aerospace system components, materials, and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and various engineering tools and systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Capability to function effectively in collaborative environments and manage time across multiple initiatives.
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in a specialized discipline with a minimum of 20 years' experience in aeronautical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree with 25 years of experience in aeronautical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Bachelor's degree with 30 years of experience in aeronautical engineering or a related technical field.
Compensation Ranges

Compensation for this role ranges from $132,000 to $226,700, depending on experience and qualifications.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in aircraft sizing and performance analysis/optimization.
  • Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel testing.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and standards.
  • Ability to integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively; proactive, solution-oriented, with outstanding time management skills.
  • Prior experience with the FAA is highly desirable.
