Avionics/Aircraft Engineer: Utilizes critical and analytical thinking to apply scientific and mathematical principles to resolve commercial and practical challenges in aerospace or aeronautical engineering. Develops assessments for the design, testing, maintenance, and oversight of aircraft, spacecraft, and avionics systems. Provides analysis for structural design, navigation, avionics systems, or communications related to aircraft and spacecraft. Offers expertise in evaluating various types of aircraft, including commercial jets, military fighters, and helicopters.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering (systems, civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, avionics, environmental, or computer).
Engineer: Delivers expertise in applying cutting-edge technology to fulfill FAA mission requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering (systems, civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, avionics, environmental, or computer).
Systems Engineer/Integrator: Conducts thorough system-wide evaluations and analyses of all facets of the National Airspace System (NAS) development life cycle, particularly focusing on the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, including ATC automation, communications, and navigation and surveillance components of the NAS. Provides expertise in transitioning legacy systems to modernized solutions.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering (civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, systems, or computer) or Physical Sciences (e.g., mathematics, physics, meteorology, chemistry, etc.).
Verification and Validation (V&V)/Test and Evaluation (T&E) Engineer: Executes formal system testing activities for specific projects or subsets of larger initiatives under the guidance of more experienced personnel. Analyzes documented user requirements and assists in designing test plans that align with user needs. Engages in all phases of risk management assessment and system development. Ensures that test designs and documentation comply with all relevant client, agency, or industry standards, timelines, and budgets. Responsible for ensuring that test conclusions and recommendations are thoroughly supported by test results.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physical Sciences (e.g., mathematics, physics, meteorology, chemistry, etc.), computer science, information systems, information technology, engineering, business, finance, administration, or other related disciplines.
