About the Role

Parkland Health is seeking a skilled Virtual HIM Inpatient Coding Auditor I to join our team. As a key member of our coding compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical and financial information reported for billing of hospital services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality reviews on all coders using official coding guidelines to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations.
  • Analyze medical record documentation to assure that coding and abstracting of data is in compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the coding area.
  • Assist in ensuring that abstracted coded data and other elements are correct and appropriate.
  • Identify ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a graduate degree in Health Information Management or a related field, and a minimum of four years of review/coding experience. You must also be a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
