Job Summary:

As a Medical Records Coding Specialist at Methodist Health System, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient data. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classify and abstract inpatient and outpatient diagnoses and procedures using ICD10-CM, ICD10 PCS, and CPT codes
• Establish and maintain accurate databases for case mix indices, providing statistical reporting and trend analysis
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely coding
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with professionalism

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of DRG-based coding experience in an acute care hospital
• Proficient in detailed work and able to maintain a high level of accuracy
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with physicians, healthcare workers, and administration
