At the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Coding Manager to oversee the daily functions of our outpatient facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for promoting teamwork, performance excellence, and accountability within our department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily functions of assigned areas of responsibility
  • Lead and support process improvement to ensure effective and efficient workflows
  • Communicate at a professional level with internal customers and stakeholders
  • Lead and/or support project management internal to the department and collaboratively with others
  • Financial stewardship, managing within department budget allocations
  • Promote and support teamwork, performance excellence, accountability, and professionalism
  • Promote and support the UTSW Quality initiatives
  • Promote and support the Department Quality Standards
  • Promote and support education and compliance
  • Maintain an expert level of knowledge of coding-related guidelines and practices
  • Offer a broad knowledge of Revenue Cycle operations

Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of acute hospital-based coding management experience, required
  • Preferred experience in an academic environment
  • Required Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or AAPC credential - Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H), or Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC)
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Health Information Management or a closely related field, required

Work is performed primarily in a general office setting when on-site, as well as from a remote home office setting.
