We are seeking a skilled Outpatient Coder to join our team at a remote location. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in surgical and OBS coding, as well as experience with billing edits. As a member of our hospital outpatient coding team, you will be responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of assigned CPT codes for complex and error-prone procedures, as well as validating diagnosis coding accuracy for complex and error-prone encounters. Your duties will also include reviewing charge and procedure mismatches, reviewing codes with revenue integrity for NCD/LCD coverage, and working with other team members to resolve alerts and edits. If you have a strong understanding of outpatient coding and a passion for quality assurance, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Responsibilities:

* Verify the accuracy of assigned CPT codes for complex and error-prone procedures
* Validate diagnosis coding accuracy for complex and error-prone encounters
* Review charge and procedure mismatches
* Review codes with revenue integrity for NCD/LCD coverage
* Work with other team members to resolve alerts and edits

Requirements:

* Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT required
* Minimum 1 year hospital, acute care same day surgery outpatient coding and auditing experience required
* RHIA, RHIT or CCS preferred
* Payer-focused, quality edits and customer complaints

Must have acute care facility coding experience across all OP work types, including Same Day Surgery, Observation, and specialties of Cardiology, IVR, and Wound Care.
