The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Youth Program Specialist. This position will be responsible for supporting the Youth Department in various aspects, including program development, record-keeping, and communication.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain a good network with Del Oro youth leaders and candidates.
- Manage the Youth Department calendar, keeping it up to date with local, Divisional, Territorial, and International youth events.
- Keep Youth Department tidy, organized, and stocked.
- Prepare general correspondence as requested by the DYCS(es).
- Attend and participate in youth events and summer camping programs as necessary.
- Work in tandem with the DYCS(es) to encourage local corps programs through the development and training of local youth leadership.
- Ability to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level.
- Knowledge of Salvation Army mission, philosophy, culture, protocol, and organizational structure.
- High degree of confidentiality.
- Computer literate in Windows environment (Microsoft Office) including Outlook, Publisher, and Excel.
- Friendly and personable, maintaining excellent rapport when dealing with fellow staff, those on the field, and with outside vendors.
- AA in relevant field of study, or three years of working experience in Salvation Army youth programming.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Class C Driver License and have an acceptable MVR record with the California DMV.
