Position Overview:

The Vice President of Financial Operations will be instrumental in steering the financial department within EK Recruiting. This individual will oversee all facets of financial and SEC reporting, budgeting and FP&A, external audits, internal audit compliance, and tax-related issues.

Collaboration with the CFO, Senior Director of Accounting, and other key leaders within the organization will be essential to support the finance, accounting, and strategic objectives of the company. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership capabilities, technical accounting knowledge, and experience in developing and managing public-ready accounting and finance teams.

This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards for SEC reporting.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making. Lead the budgeting and FP&A functions.
  • Develop and uphold accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure adherence to GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies for annual PCAOB audits and compliance reviews, ensuring a smooth audit process and timely resolution of any findings.
  • Collaborate with external tax consultants on tax compliance, tax provisions, transfer pricing, and R&D tax credit initiatives.
  • Drive process enhancements and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.
  • Evaluate and implement accounting software and tools to streamline processes and boost productivity.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring the organization remains compliant and adopts relevant updates.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Senior Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller overseeing various accounting functions to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a minimum of 5 years in public accounting and 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Experience in leading and developing accounting teams through the public offering process.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements; familiarity with IFRS is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices to optimize accounting operations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Infor CSI is beneficial.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • High ethical standards and integrity, committed to maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
