Position Overview

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Safety and Compliance Specialist for a contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Safety and Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying hazardous conditions in the workplace. This includes:
• Conducting preliminary assessments and sampling of hazardous materials.
• Implementing measures to eliminate risks and protect personnel through revised procedures and training on the use of personal protective equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations and maintaining accurate records.
• Participating in safety inspections and managing follow-up procedures for any citations received.
• Investigating incidents and preparing reports on workplace injuries and fatalities.
• Leading training sessions on safe work practices.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety, Physical Science, Life Science, or Engineering.
• Strong ability to interpret and enforce safety regulations within the maritime and construction sectors.
• Capacity to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.
• Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) are preferred.
• Previous experience in the construction industry and familiarity with legal standards enforcement.

Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is mandatory.

Work Schedule:
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, First Shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
