Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our Samaritan Healthcare team. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, processing specimens, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture, arterial puncture, and other techniques.
  2. Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
  3. Verify patient identification and maintain accurate records.
  4. Rotate among different Samaritan Healthcare facilities as needed.
  5. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments.
  6. Ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Certificate of completion from an accredited Phlebotomy education program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Washington State Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification within 3 months of hire.
  4. Minimum of one year hospital experience preferred.
  5. Experience with computers and EPIC LIS program preferred.
  6. Current CPR certification - Healthcare Provider (HCP) level.

Physical Requirements
  1. Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  2. Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information.
