They handle both Checkout and Return transactions, while also overseeing and maintaining the Self-Checkout section. Cashiers actively pursue knowledge about products and services to inform customers and recognize sales opportunities. They adhere to all company policies and procedures to minimize loss.
A Head Cashier is responsible for organizing Cashiers and assisting them by facilitating price checks, authorizing Point of Sale transactions, and managing markdowns across various service areas.
They serve as the first point of escalation for customer concerns and aid in supervising, mentoring, and training other Front End Associates by participating in the onboarding of new Cashiers and utilizing available resources to guide and develop fellow Cashiers.
The ideal candidate for a Head Cashier position should have at least 1 year of experience as a Cashier.Specific Cashier roles may include:
Cashier - $17.50
Head Cashier - $18.50
Pro Cashier - $17.50

The Home Depot provides a comprehensive benefits package as part of total compensation, which includes: paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid parental leave, six paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, 401K with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, profit-sharing bonuses, and/or other benefits (specific benefits may vary based on employment status).
1 Full-time salaried employees are eligible for 2 weeks of vacation in their first year; full-time hourly employees qualify for 40 hours of paid vacation after 6 months of continuous service; part-time employees are eligible for 20 hours of paid vacation after 6 months of continuous service; temporary employees do not qualify for vacation benefits.
2 Sick leave policies vary by location.
Temporary and salaried employees earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked; full-time employees earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater; part-time employees earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked or 2 hours per month, whichever is greater.
