ROLE SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the standardization of operational and maintenance practices for drilling equipment across the Seadrill fleet. This includes providing operational support, overseeing equipment refurbishments, and consulting with suppliers. The role involves implementing and refining processes to ensure compliance with Seadrill's internal standards as well as international regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for designated product lines.
- Manage the distribution of vendor technical communications and offer actionable recommendations.
- Develop and revise standard operating procedures for drilling equipment.
- Prepare and disseminate corporate documentation (Technical Reports, Bulletins, Proposals).
- Address technical challenges and downtime incidents promptly, supporting recovery initiatives.
- Collaborate with suppliers to assess equipment reliability and potential upgrades.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and lessons learned across various rigs.
- Evaluate management of change requests, maintenance proposals, and improvement suggestions from rigs.
- Maintain and review preventative maintenance schedules for assigned equipment.
- Identify opportunities and assist in the development of condition monitoring and condition-based maintenance strategies.
- Participate in technical audits across the fleet as necessary.
- Ensure that Seadrill's policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to align with the latest international standards and regulations.
- Support rig and project management teams in developing and advising on scopes of work related to long-term maintenance and upgrade projects.
- Monitor rig downtime associated with equipment under your purview.
- Provide feedback on equipment reliability issues to enhance design with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Ensure maintenance tasks are sufficient to uphold equipment reliability.
- Deliver clear guidance to the organization regarding equipment maintenance.
- Develop standard operating procedures and corporate standards.
- Generate corporate documentation (Technical Reports, Bulletins, Proposals).
- Engage with OEMs on behalf of the company to enhance equipment reliability.
- Represent the company at Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Provide relevant technical insights to other departments within the company.

Essential
- A minimum of 5 years of offshore experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred, with consideration for other relevant experience.
- Extensive technical knowledge in the relevant field.
- Ability to engage effectively with technical teams and management on drilling units.
- Comprehensive understanding of equipment and systems within the designated area.
- Familiarity with management and asset management systems similar to TMS/Maximo/Synergy.
- Proficient in technical writing and communication using MS Office applications.
- Experience in installation and commissioning is preferred.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
- Willingness to travel offshore as required in any operational region.
- Proven track record of effective work in various offshore marine/subsea environments within the oilfield and energy sectors.
