The Senior Superintendent serves as the chief on-site manager, holding operational accountability for the workforce engaged in the installation, modification, enhancement, and/or maintenance of electrical systems, conductors, and related materials and equipment for large-scale projects that necessitate intricate coordination among various subordinate supervisors and teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all electrical trades on a construction project.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to conduct working estimates and take-offs.
- Organize work for subordinate supervisors and lead personnel, sharing responsibility with the Project Manager for ensuring timely availability of materials, tools, equipment, information, and adequate manpower.
- Develop work schedules and man-loading charts.
- Engage with General Contractor representatives regarding daily project scheduling and overall performance matters.
- Provide comprehensive supervision to subordinate foremen involved in the installation of electrical feeders, equipment such as pumps, motors, and generators, as well as control and distribution devices including switch gear, relays, and circuit breaker panels, lighting fixtures, and outlets.
- Monitor ongoing work, guide subordinate supervisors and teams, and schedule tasks in alignment with project pace and other trades.
- Manage or supervise the handling of necessary office correspondence and administrative documentation, including official forms, daily reports, time sheets/tickets, and safety reports.
- Ensure overall project safety performance, guaranteeing that employees receive proper training or instruction for their assigned duties. Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and processes. Investigate or assist in the investigation and reporting of any accidents or safety incidents involving site personnel.
Qualifications:
- Valid TDLR Journeyman License.
- Licenses: Current Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
- Experience with Mission Control is essential.
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in commercial electrical roles as a job runner for electrical construction projects.
- Over 10 years of experience as an Electrical or Industrial Superintendent or in a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong mathematical and accounting capabilities.
- Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving, leadership, and management skills.
- Ability to interpret and understand drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with project contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
