Position: Paralegal

Location: San Francisco, CA

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the CEO

Role Summary:

We are in search of a proficient and knowledgeable Paralegal to enhance our team at Structure Properties. This role is pivotal in supporting various legal functions associated with our property management activities. The Paralegal will be responsible for managing and assisting with all legal issues, including eviction processes, rent disputes, insurance claims, compliance matters, and other intricate legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main liaison between the property management division and external legal counsel for all legal cases.
  • Oversee the coordination of legal matters, including eviction proceedings, rent collection issues, and insurance claims.
  • Draft legal documents such as eviction notices and other required legal communications.
  • Facilitate communication among property managers, tenants, and legal representatives regarding ongoing legal issues.
  • Collect and organize pertinent documentation and evidence for legal actions.
  • Assist external attorneys with case management tasks, including scheduling and filing documents.
  • Conduct necessary legal research to support case strategies and preparations.
  • Review and analyze contracts, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all legal cases and documentation.
  • Support additional legal projects and tasks as directed by the CEO.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, ideally within property management or real estate law.
  • In-depth understanding of legal processes, court regulations, and landlord-tenant laws.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with property managers, tenants, and legal professionals.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail, adept at multitasking and managing time efficiently.
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms and tools, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical practices.
