About the Job

AEG Vision is seeking a skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional service from the moment they walk in the door.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm and welcoming greeting to patients, customers, and vendors
  • Respond to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Schedule appointments and gather patient and insurance information
  • Verify and enter patient demographics into our electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Verify vision and medical insurance information and enter it into the EMR system
  • Maintain a clear understanding of insurance plans and communicate insurance information to patients
  • Pull schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointments and ensure files are complete
  • Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed
  • Print and prepare forms for patient visits
  • Collect and document all charges, co-pays, and payments into the EMR system
  • Allocate balances to insurance as needed
  • Maintain a clean workspace at all times
  • Practice economy in the use of resources, equipment, and supplies
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned by manager

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality

Physical Demands

  • This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office
