The Role

The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is seeking dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurses to engage in essential nursing functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering comprehensive patient care under the guidance of registered nurses in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
  • Executing a variety of nursing tasks including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining patient hygiene.
  • Managing controlled substances responsibly and adhering to medication administration protocols.
  • Documenting patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Assisting patients with daily living activities and ensuring a safe, clean environment.
  • Participating in team-based care, collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted LVN license issued by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized organization.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
