Job Title: Legal Research Attorney - Civil Law Specialist

Job Summary:

The Contra Costa County Superior Court is seeking a highly skilled Legal Research Attorney to join our team. As a Legal Research Attorney, you will assist judges in performing legal research and drafting bench memoranda containing analyses, conclusions, and recommendations. You will be responsible for researching and analyzing cases, statutes, and secondary materials, as well as drafting clear and concise legal memoranda.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform legal research independently and analyze complex legal problems
* Draft clear and concise legal memoranda, including analysis, conclusions, and recommendations
* Present statements of law, fact, and argument clearly and logically in written and oral form
* Set priorities, schedule, and monitor a large volume of work

Requirements:

* Possession of a law degree from an accredited law school
* Active membership in the State Bar of California for three years
* At least two years of post-bar experience as a practicing attorney in private practice or a government agency

Benefits:

* Three weeks of vacation per year, accrued on a bi-weekly basis
* Twelve days of sick leave per year, accrued on a bi-weekly basis
* Fourteen fixed paid holidays
* Twenty-four hours of administrative leave each January 1st, pro-rated for new appointments
