ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Land Surveying Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading survey field crews and overseeing land research survey technicians in various surveying activities, such as boundary retracement, land development, and right-of-way assessments.
  • Conducting thorough reviews and analyses of requests for professional surveying services originating from relevant divisions.
  • Performing comprehensive research of land records at various governmental offices to resolve title descriptions and right-of-way matters.
  • Planning and executing survey operations with a strong emphasis on safety, including assessing optimal times for assignments and ensuring proper personnel are assigned to potentially hazardous tasks.
  • Communicating any incidents or accidents to your supervisor, including the cause and corrective measures taken.
  • Ensuring that the survey crew is equipped with the necessary tools, equipment, and training to perform their duties safely and effectively.

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL DETAILS
  • Full-time position with a home headquarters.
  • Standard work hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break.
  • This role may involve significant overnight travel across the state.
  • Compensation: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in certain cases.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Experience and Training:

  • One year of experience as a Surveyor Technician Supervisor; or
  • Five years of relevant surveying experience, including one year as a chief of party, along with a high school diploma. An Associate Degree in surveying or engineering technology may substitute for one year of experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • A registered surveyor's license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, or an equivalent license from another jurisdiction, is required.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must meet the residency requirements of Pennsylvania.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions is necessary.
