Position Title: LIHEAP Receptionist

Department: Energy/Weatherization Services

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the LIHEAP Lead Intake Worker, the primary responsibility of this role is to manage incoming calls, perform reception tasks, and carry out general office functions including data entry, record maintenance, and note-taking.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Handle and direct incoming phone calls; Welcome visitors and clients.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide general information regarding procedures and programs.
  • Take messages and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Execute various office tasks such as filing, copying, and faxing.
  • Conduct a range of computer tasks utilizing software such as Word and Excel.
  • Uphold client confidentiality.
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks to support departmental and organizational objectives.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with computer applications.
  • Proficient in using office equipment including 10-key adding machines.
  • Knowledge of contemporary office practices.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and collaborate harmoniously with staff, clients, and volunteers.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds; ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of college courses or technical training in computer applications and modern office procedures.
  • Awareness of community resources and services.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
