Position Overview:

The Event Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in the planning and promotion of various events at our facility. This includes managing venue rentals, concerts, conventions, and other in-house activities. The ideal candidate will exhibit creativity in crafting marketing strategies that enhance community engagement and awareness. Collaborating closely with the Facility Director, this individual will oversee marketing initiatives to meet budgetary objectives and drive revenue generation for the venue. Responsibilities will include graphic design, advertising, interactive media, promotions, public relations, and grassroots marketing efforts for assigned events. Additionally, this role may involve serving as Supervisor on Duty for various events.

Compensation: The hourly wage for this position ranges from $18 to $22.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and nurture relationships with promoters, event producers, subcontractors, tenants, and clients, including drafting and executing relevant agreements.
  • Assist in the operational aspects of events on the day they occur.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the logistics of assigned events, acting as the liaison between all parties involved.
  • Oversee in-house events according to venue policies, managing logistics, budgets, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the facility at events, enforcing policies and resolving any public or event-related issues professionally.
  • Support daily promotions and in-house event activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly corporate marketing reports and participate in conference calls with other entities.
  • Assist with the venue's digital and print marketing initiatives, including social media, advertising, and local media opportunities.
  • Manage public relations efforts, including press release creation and media relations.
  • Engage in grassroots marketing efforts to expand event awareness.
  • Generate innovative ideas to attract new events and promote existing ones.
  • Support database management and email marketing campaigns.
  • Develop new marketing programs to maximize ticket sales and explore non-traditional marketing avenues.
  • Utilize graphic design skills using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments and with external partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in event management, facility management, sports management, hospitality management, business administration, marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong interest and knowledge in marketing and advertising.
  • Intermediate proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with the public and colleagues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
