Role of a Camp Activities Leader

As a Camp Activities Leader, you will engage actively in all camp events and assist the Camp Director with various daily responsibilities, all aimed at crafting a memorable and impactful experience for our campers. You will interact with children throughout the day, fostering friendships, encouraging new experiences, and ensuring their overall well-being. The essence of this role is to participate, build connections, and enjoy the process while safeguarding the physical and emotional safety of every child.

Essential Qualities
  • Ability to nurture children's growth in character and experiences
  • Commitment to ensuring the health and safety of campers at all times
  • Capacity to maintain energy throughout a full day of activities
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Traits of enthusiasm, responsibility, dependability, consistency, level-headedness, flexibility, and calmness in all situations
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to the summer season
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a fun, safe, and engaging camp experience for a group of campers
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow leaders and the Camp Director
  • Welcome families and campers upon their arrival
  • Assist the Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency protocols with campers
  • Participate fully in all camp activities
  • Supervise daily swim sessions in an interactive manner (lifeguard certification not required)
  • Support where needed and lead activities as directed by the Camp Director
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned
