Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient and high-quality service to patients, including registration, scheduling, and billing.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and communicate with patients and staff to ensure seamless care.
  • Answer multiple phone lines and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Distribute communications and notifications to patients and staff as needed.
  • Resolve patient questions and concerns, and refer complex issues to practice manager or clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Schedule future appointments and requisitions, and coordinate with hospital admission and outpatient admissions and surgery as needed.
  • Notify patient care area when patient has arrived and is ready to be seen.
  • Accurately identify patient insurance and verify eligibility as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years of related customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients.
  • CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and scheduling sections of the eClinicalWorks system preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
