The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for checking patients in and out of appointments, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the service area in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with patients and guests, including greeting them upon arrival and confirming their identity.
  • Complete check-in/out functions as directed.
  • Confirm and update patient identification and demographic/insurance information.
  • Complete patient registration as needed.
  • Obtain patient consents/authorizations.
  • Collect co-payments, past due balances, and point of service payments.
  • Post payments, process billing information, and perform "end of day" cash drawer closing.
  • Keep the waiting area clean and comfortable.
  • Inform patients of any delays or changes in appointment status.
  • Schedule appointments as necessary.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Zero (0) to two (2) years experience in a customer service position.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Bilingual.
