About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal RF Design Engineer to join our Radar Systems team at Raytheon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced radar systems, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF circuits, including chains of components and individual parts such as filters, limiters, and couplers.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams, including power, digital, and mechanical engineers.
  • Develop and optimize RF designs using electromagnetic simulation tools and analytical tools.
  • Transition designs to production and provide technical support during the production process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of prior work experience.
  • Experience with microwave/RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, design, and/or test.
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools and analytical tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints.
  • Problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.
  • Experience in technical writing and oral presentations.
