Job Title: Senior RF Design Engineer

At RTX, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior RF Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing transmitters, receivers, and exciters. You will work with interdisciplinary teams to design and optimize RF circuits, including chains of components and individual parts such as filters, limiters, and couplers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of transmitters, receivers, and exciters
  • Design and optimization of RF circuits, including chains of components and individual parts
  • Working with interdisciplinary teams to design and optimize RF circuits
  • Schematic capture and RF routing
  • Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of prior work experience
  • Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, design, and/or test
  • Experience with analytical tools such as MATLAB
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required post-start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with simulation tools such as ADS, SystemVUE, and/or MentorGraphics' Xpedition
  • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications
  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, which includes yield and margin analysis
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges
  • Experience in cost and schedule management
  • Experience in technical/proposal writing and oral presentations
