Job Title: Principal RF Design Engineer

At Raytheon, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal RF Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Receiver, Exciter, and Back-End Processing (REBEP) Department, you will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of Raytheon's Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters.
  • Design and optimization of RF circuits, including chains of components and individual parts.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including power, digital, mechanical, and other departments.
  • Schematic capture and RF routing.
  • Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years' of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years' of prior work experience.
  • Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, design, and/or test.
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools, such as HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition, and analytical tools, such as MATLAB.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required post-start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.
  • Experience in technical/proposal writing and oral presentations.
  • Technical background in any of the following areas: cascade analysis and/or frequency planning, filter design and fabrication, circuit card assembly and fabrication, high-speed data converter test/characterization, or low-noise RF source design and test experience.
