Sub-Department: School of Transportation & Applied Technology
Appointment Type: Unclassified - Administrative/Staff
Compensation: Starting at $15.25 per hour, commensurate with experience and educational background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of institutional policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on current recruitment and admissions guidelines.
- Provide accurate and respectful information to students regarding admissions and application processes.
- Respond promptly and professionally to student inquiries.
- Assist in student advising and support.
- Foster collaborative relationships with campus departments and external organizations, including secondary school officials.
- Support Advisory Committee Meetings and maintain relevant documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA regulations.
- Manage and organize files, both physical and digital, using software such as Banner and Microsoft Office.
- Maintain an annual record of student industry-based certifications.
- Prepare correspondence, schedules, and documents for the department.
- Assist with class schedule building and travel requisitions for faculty.
- Manage inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean or designated representative.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Experience: At least three years in a similar role.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and office management skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capacity to make independent, sound decisions.
- Proficiency in using computers for information management.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Physical capability to perform filing and storage tasks.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Willingness to work a standard Monday through Friday schedule with occasional overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: Three years of similar experience in a higher education setting.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
