About the Position:

The Institutional Assessment Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating and supporting the Commonwealth's institutional assessment and effectiveness initiatives. Responsibilities encompass supporting annual assessments, program evaluations, assessment data management, and both internal and external reporting on assessment outcomes. The Coordinator also engages in assessment analysis and research, serving as the primary administrator and technical support for institutional assessment software platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Annual Planning and Reporting: Collaborates with assessment council leaders to assist academic and administrative units in their assessment activities; Monitors and ensures timely submission of annual assessment reports; Maintains a repository for assessment documentation and prepares reports as necessary; Participates in a peer review process for academic and administrative units; Coordinates and implements assessment workshops and consultations.
  • Program Review for Academic Programs: Aids in the administration of Academic Program Review surveys; Responds to data requests related to Academic Program Review; Facilitates academic program review processes in alignment with institutional effectiveness objectives, working alongside a team of institutional assessment experts.
  • Assessment Data, Reporting, and Management Support: Provides data support for requests and dashboard development; Prepares analytical reports on assessment findings for university leadership; Produces executive summaries, detailed reports, and visualizations that highlight assessment analysis results, offering insights for continuous improvement; Organizes and shares assessment projects and reports on the OIEP webpage for stakeholder access; Supports ad hoc assessment initiatives at both program and institutional levels; Guides faculty and staff in utilizing the university's planning and reporting tools through consultations, training sessions, and workshops.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in assessment, higher education, or social science research (typically two or more years);
  • Experience with student learning outcomes, assessment methodologies, and rubric development;
  • Proficient in report writing and presenting findings to diverse audiences;
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical capabilities;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams);
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to develop and deliver workshops and training on assessment initiatives;
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively;
  • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A terminal degree in higher education, educational research, social science, or a related research discipline, or comparable experience;
  • Significant experience in assessment, higher education, or social science research (typically three or more years);
  • Proficiency in survey administration platforms (e.g., Qualtrics);
  • Familiarity with assessment platforms (e.g., Nuventive, Tk20);
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, SQL);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher education data.
