Job Summary

The Fire Alarm & Security Superintendent is responsible for establishing, coordinating, and managing all field activities related to fire alarm installation. This role works closely with the Branch office to ensure adherence to Summit Fire & Security's quality program, including procedures and work instructions, as it relates to field activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule all field activities, from pre-construction meetings to installation, ensuring coordination with sales and design personnel, and adherence to permit and approved plans.
  • Work in the field to install systems, collaborating with foremen and apprentices.
  • Schedule staffing for each week using the Weekly Manpower Report and plan jobs over a 3-month period using the 3 Month Manpower Planning Report.
  • Establish materials on job dates based on project schedules.
  • Ensure all necessary materials, plans, and information are provided to foremen before job commencement.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department or office point of contact to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Purchase or rent equipment needed for each job.
  • Participate in weekly progress report meetings to communicate job status, expected duration, and any changes to the original design.
  • Follow up on punch-lists and ensure customer sign-off upon completion.
  • Report scheduling delays, personnel issues, safety concerns, or incidents to the direct supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Review employee time sheets, reports, and training records for accuracy and submission in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure all assigned employees comply with job requirements and assigned tasks.
  • Review field employees per company policy, addressing disciplinary actions as needed, in coordination with the FA&S Manager.
  • Ensure company-provided vehicles are clean and well-maintained, adhering to company policies.
  • Ensure all tools are maintained in proper working order, labeling damaged tools and coordinating new tool purchases with the District Manager.
  • Understand and follow Summit Fire & Security's Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure all required safety training is scheduled and conducted in accordance with company policy.
  • Coordinate and ensure training for Alarm Foreman and Alarm Apprentices is scheduled and conducted per company policies.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in the Fire Life Safety Industry, specifically in Fire Alarm, preferred.
  • Nevada F Card-Certification, required.
  • 3 years of professional computer skills, preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English with employees and customers.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, required.
  • Compliance with Summit Fire & Security's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements.
  • Ability to travel 90% of the time, locally.
Work Environment

Employees will regularly work outside, exposed to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and noise. Occasionally, they will work indoors in an office setting, alone or with others, and must consistently wear personal protective equipment as required by company safety policies.
