Job Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Fitter is a critical member of our team at Summit Fire & Security, responsible for installing and maintaining fire protection systems in newly constructed structures and renovations to existing structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and fabricate steel and CPVC pipe for fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with blueprints and construction documents.
  • Hang and install a variety of pipe, sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, hangers, and other fire protection components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to ensure accurate installation of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Ensure all work areas remain clean, safe, and orderly, and that all tools and equipment are properly secured and accounted for.
  • Report progress and job-related problems to field foremen on a daily basis.
  • Assist in the training of sprinkler apprentices and participate in weekly toolbox talks.
  • Understand and follow SFS Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience installing pipe systems and valves required.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team, with basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, decision-making skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to read electronic blueprints, strongly preferred.
