Position Overview
We are seeking a Tracking Strategic Subject Matter Expert to provide essential support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as a transformative force in space acquisition within the Department of Defense, SDA is responsible for delivering space-based capabilities to support terrestrial missions through the development, deployment, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA employs a unique business model that emphasizes speed and cost reduction by leveraging commercial development to create a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer technical support and advisory services concerning space-based mission capabilities.
- Evaluate engineering documentation and provide subject matter expertise; engage in System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR) activities.
- Oversee requirements, budget, and acquisition processes for the strategic layer.
- Develop and sustain future capability roadmaps through collaboration within the organization and with external partners.
- Establish and nurture effective working relationships with internal clients and external stakeholders, including members of the DoD, Congress, industry, and Allies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a relevant technical field.
- A minimum of 10 years of directly related experience.
- TS/SCI clearance required.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating across a diverse range of organizations to achieve strategic objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree - Master of Science or higher preferred.
