Position Overview

We are seeking a Tracking Strategic Subject Matter Expert to contribute to our dynamic support for the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as a transformative force in space acquisition within the Department of Defense, SDA is responsible for delivering space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter, enhancing terrestrial missions through the development, deployment, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA leverages a unique business model that emphasizes speed and cost-effectiveness by utilizing commercial development to establish a proliferated architecture and bolster resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support and advisory services concerning space-based mission capabilities.
  • Review engineering documentation and offer subject matter expertise; engage in System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR) activities.
  • Oversee requirements management, budget considerations, and acquisition processes for the strategic layer.
  • Develop and sustain future capability roadmaps through collaboration within the organization and with external partners.
  • Establish and nurture effective working relationships with internal clients and external stakeholders, including members of the DoD, Congress, industry, and Allies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience.
  • TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across a diverse range of organizations to achieve strategic objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree - Master of Science or higher is preferred.
