Job Overview

The Vice President of Financial Crimes Analytics operates with a significant degree of independence, playing a crucial role in the enhancement, optimization, and continuous management of the Financial Crimes Management (FCM) models, data visualizations, and data initiatives at Raymond James.

Utilizing extensive expertise acquired through education and professional experience, this position supports tools and technical solutions related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) transaction monitoring, customer and transaction screening, fraud detection and prevention, emerging risks, customer risk assessment, and elder financial exploitation, among other critical programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple teams in the design and implementation of enterprise-level Financial Crimes solutions that significantly impact various subsidiaries of Raymond James.
  • Collaborate with management to formulate strategic and tactical plans for enterprise client and corporate initiatives related to FCM.
  • Engage regularly with federal and state regulators, vendors, Model Risk Management (MRM), Audit, and stakeholders across Financial Crimes Management.
  • Oversee all stages of the Financial Crimes Analytics model development life cycle, including data extraction, transformation, scenario design, validation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Review and adjust the firm's AML and Financial Crimes models and systems to align with evolving regulatory and business landscapes, aiming to minimize risk exposure while addressing business needs.
  • Partner with teams in Enterprise Fraud Risk Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Technology to develop new fraud prevention and surveillance capabilities.
  • Monitor the performance of Financial Crimes Management models and typology coverage actively.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other essential team meetings.
  • Mentor staff, identify training needs, and create development plans.
  • Conduct human resource management activities, including performance evaluations and staff selection.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, with an MBA or master's degree preferred. A minimum of twelve years of experience supporting technical teams in AML compliance, Cyber Investigations/Fraud, or analytics within financial services is required.

Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations such as the USA Patriot Act and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools including Python, SQL, and data visualization software.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
