We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Program Manager to oversee the recruitment and management of a robust volunteer workforce that supports our various initiatives. This role encompasses all aspects of volunteer engagement, from recruitment to training and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the organization’s volunteer program through effective recruitment, placement, and supervision of volunteers, in collaboration with leadership.
  • Conduct outreach efforts to engage potential volunteers from the community to meet the needs of our programs.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with local organizations and businesses to further our mission.
  • Screen and interview prospective volunteers, guiding them through the onboarding process.
  • Develop and implement training programs, events, and recognition initiatives to foster volunteer engagement and motivation.
  • Work closely with program directors to recruit, onboard, and support volunteers within their respective areas.
  • Facilitate orientation and specialized training sessions for volunteers.
  • Organize volunteer recognition events and engagement activities.
  • Supervise volunteers as needed and gather feedback for continuous improvement; recommend updates to services and programs based on evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for the volunteer program.
  • Collaborate with department heads to assess the needs and performance standards for volunteer services.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of operational procedures and the Volunteer Manual.
  • Collect and analyze data on volunteer trends, providing regular metrics on volunteer activities and retention.
  • Identify and engage potential philanthropic volunteers to support our fundraising initiatives.
  • Participate in community service programs as required.
  • Partner with marketing to create and promote volunteer campaigns and recognition events.
  • Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of volunteer initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of leadership among volunteers and within the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree required; relevant work experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in volunteer management or related fields within a non-profit context.
  • Strong presentation, public speaking, and community engagement skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Experience in collaborative environments where teamwork and self-motivation are essential.
  • Valid driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
