Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, innovative, and hands-on Automation Engineer to spearhead the integration of automation technologies within our Global Delivery Station Network.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will join the Amazon Services Innovation Engineering team and will be tasked with defining, testing, validating, and implementing various robotics and automation systems across the Delivery Stations network. This role demands experienced engineers with a blend of robotics, engineering, planning, and analytical expertise.
- Collaborate closely with Product teams and Global Engineering to translate customer requirements into actionable robotics solutions.
- Lead design and innovation initiatives to create optimal solutions for the last mile network, focusing on equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout.
- Identify automation opportunities based on factors such as labor, cost, safety, and performance in partnership with Process Engineering and Operations teams.
- Develop business cases to advocate for automation in the Delivery Stations network to enhance productivity.
- Establish pilot criteria and success metrics to evaluate prototype units.
- Work with internal teams to generate technical documentation, including product specifications and integration requirements.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Controls, and Software teams to strategize technology integration in operations.
- Engage with simulation teams to validate new concepts for automating manual processes.
- Contribute to the design of future Delivery Stations by integrating Robotics, Automation, IoT, and Machine Learning disciplines.
A Day in the Life
Your role will involve conceptualizing and implementing new technologies for our delivery network. This may include collaborating with vendors to develop automation and robotics concepts, understanding the challenges faced by associates, and crafting business cases to support piloting new technologies.
Through deep analysis, you will assess how technology impacts our processes and associates' experiences, iterating on ideas to determine the viability of new tech implementations.

Basic Qualifications
- Proven experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent industrial experience.
- 5+ years of demonstrated engineering experience in automation, robotics, or manufacturing environments.
- 5+ years of engineering project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
