You will leverage this knowledge, along with your background in infrastructure and cloud technologies, to enhance our infrastructure's reliability, availability, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness. As a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you are expected to exhibit expertise in infrastructure and cloud technologies. Additionally, you will mentor and guide junior team members, exemplifying superior code quality, thorough documentation, and adherence to software development lifecycle best practices.

AS A LEAD CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

  • Contribute to the team’s mission to build and maintain a highly scalable and resilient infrastructure and automation framework.
  • Research and implement strategies to create a highly reliable and scalable testing platform in the cloud.
  • Promote and drive the adoption of the Control Plane platform to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop innovative tools to enhance automation and operability of platform services.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex and challenging projects within the automation and cloud infrastructure domain.
OUR IDEAL LEAD CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE WILL POSSESS:
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in developing testing and quality infrastructure along with automation tools.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a software engineering platform team within a Cloud or SaaS environment, supporting mission-critical services.
  • At least 3 years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering, coding skills, and familiarity with software development lifecycle best practices.
  • Proficiency in Golang and/or Python.
  • Experience with infrastructure and configuration management tools such as Pulumi, Terraform, and Vault.
  • Demonstrated understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud computing, and networking.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to develop reliable and scalable software systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Adeptness at troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • A robust work ethic, self-management capabilities, and a passion for problem-solving.
