Job Overview

Anesthesia technologists play a vital role within the anesthesia care team, collaborating closely with licensed anesthesia providers. Their primary responsibilities include the acquisition, preparation, and application of essential equipment and supplies necessary for administering anesthesia. By ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of anesthesia care, they support both routine and complex surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, anesthesia technologists are tasked with:

  • Preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems throughout the anesthesia process.
  • Assisting in the setup and management of sterile fields and invasive monitoring lines.
  • Applying regional, epidural, and spinal anesthesia techniques as required.
  • Contributing to the overall safety and effectiveness of anesthesia care in various surgical environments.
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician or completion of an ASATT accredited two-year educational program.
  • Relevant work experience in a surgical setting, such as a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Facility.
Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
  • Experience in preparing sterile environments and performing invasive and non-invasive procedure setups.
  • Familiarity with physiological monitoring devices used in anesthesia administration.
  • Knowledge of ethical and legal considerations related to anesthesia practice.
