Position Summary
The Parts Counterperson plays a crucial role in our parts sales operations. This position involves managing customer inquiries, overseeing parts inventory, processing transactions, and handling warranty claims. The responsibilities outlined below are intended to provide a general overview of the various tasks associated with this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers both in-person and over the phone, providing exceptional service and support.
- Utilize computerized systems and electronic catalogs to source parts information efficiently.
- Communicate pricing and availability of parts to customers.
- Handle invoicing and payment processing for parts sales.
- Manage the return process for parts, including inspections and credit issuance.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing parts display area.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Assist customers with warranty claims and ensure compliance with supplier guidelines.
- Conduct outreach to customers regarding promotional parts offers.
- Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or one year of relevant work experience.
- Three years of experience in a customer-facing sales role.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and parts.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds, standing for extended periods, and using hands for handling parts. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
