Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Building Systems Electrical Specialist to enhance their Facilities Operations team.

The Building Systems Electrical Specialist will be tasked with the upkeep, repair, and installation of essential building systems, particularly focusing on exhaust and fume hood mechanisms. This position is vital for ensuring the smooth functioning of facilities and delivering exceptional service to faculty, staff, and students.

Compensation Package: $55,000 - $65,000 ($26.44/hr - $31.25/hr) + potential for a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently Address Service Requests
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks
  • Maintain communication and accurate records
  • Oversee the work of other personnel
  • Complete additional assigned responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial or institutional electrical or mechanical maintenance
  • Possession of a State of Virginia Journeyman Electrical or HVAC License, or the ability to obtain it within the first year
  • Strong communication abilities and familiarity with building codes
  • Skillful in the use of hand tools and power equipment
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proven experience in promoting a diverse work environment

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • State of Virginia Journeyman Electrical or HVAC License
  • Valid Driver's License

  • Standard work hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
