General Overview:
The Human Resources Faculty Staffing Specialist/Evaluator is responsible for assessing educational qualifications, competencies, and accreditation criteria for faculty and staff. This role ensures adherence to accreditation standards set forth by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and maintains precise records of employee qualifications. The Specialist collaborates with Academic Affairs hiring managers to facilitate the recruitment and onboarding processes for faculty members. This position involves providing ongoing support and guidance to hiring managers regarding effective recruitment practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate and analyze academic transcripts and credentials to ensure compliance with SACSCOC accreditation standards for faculty and staff positions.
  2. Track transcript extensions and manage related correspondence, ensuring appropriate follow-up in accordance with established policies.
  3. Interpret and clarify transcript and credential evaluations for employees and applicants.
  4. Conduct research to verify the authenticity of institutions, programs, credentials, and accreditation.
  5. Maintain and update the employee credential database and ERP software, ensuring accurate compensation levels in the Faculty Action Tracking database.
  6. Process Faculty and Staff Posting requests for each vacancy.
  7. Keep an updated list of open positions on the South Texas College Careers website.
  8. Ensure relevant information for faculty and staff is current in the South Texas College Online Catalog.
  9. Collaborate with advertising agencies to design and place job advertisements, selecting appropriate sources in line with Human Resources guidelines.
  10. Provide training and guidance to department chairs and search committee members on recruitment policies and the applicant tracking system.
  11. Assign search committee members for each Faculty posting in accordance with Human Resources protocols.
  12. Ensure hiring proposals are complete, accurate, and routed for necessary approvals promptly.
  13. Monitor job postings and assist in reviewing employment applications to ensure a sufficient pool of candidates.
  14. Extend formal offers of employment to selected candidates and document the process.
  15. Assist with onboarding documentation and generate identification numbers for new hires.
  16. Maintain and update the applicant tracking system, auditing workflow status and communicating updates to relevant staff.
  17. Assist in the research and communication of job descriptions to hiring managers.
  18. Provide necessary data to Payroll staff for accurate processing of faculty employee information.
  19. Maintain confidentiality regarding applicant and employee information as required.
  20. Compile reports and communicate information as requested by department chairs and executive staff.
  21. Assist in developing and updating staffing guides, procedures, manuals, training materials, and forms.
  22. Maintain ongoing communication with Human Resources personnel regarding hiring documents, salary placement, and staffing plans.
  23. Participate in employment job fairs as needed.
  24. Stay informed about the College's programs, policies, and SACSCOC requirements.
  25. Travel throughout the college district as necessary.
  26. Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree is required.
  2. Preferred: At least two (2) years of experience in a Human Resources environment.
  3. Preferred: Experience in higher education and knowledge of college transcript evaluations.

  3. A valid Texas driver's license and proof of liability insurance are required.
  4. Human Resources certification is preferred.
