Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Faculty Instructor - Advanced Manufacturing Technology to join our team at South Texas College. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, creating a supportive learning environment, and contributing to the growth and enhancement of our college mission and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching and Instruction:
• Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning
• Effectively employ teaching and learning strategies that promote student engagement
• Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students' needs
• Encourage the development of communication skills and higher-order thinking skills through appropriate assignments

2. Evaluation of Student Learning:
• Participate in the development, implementation, and assessment of departmental student learning outcomes
• Develop and use evaluation methods that fairly measure student progress toward outcomes
• Evaluate and expeditiously return student work to promote maximum learning

3. Support of College Policies and Procedures:
• Maintain familiarity with and adhere to College Policies and Procedures
• Fulfill requirements of instructors set forth in the letter of appointment
• Maintain regular office hours to ensure accessibility to students and colleagues

4. Participation in College, Division, and Program Activities:
• Serve on College, divisional, and program committees, teams, and task forces as assigned
• Attend meetings and events as required by College administration
• Participate in professional activities that contribute to the educational goals of the College and its constituents

5. Contribution to the Growth and Enhancement of College Mission and Programs:
• Participate in student advising
• Maintain familiarity with College goals, mission, and long-range plans
• Contribute to planning and development processes through appropriate channels

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum academic degree must be at the same level at which the faculty member is teaching plus emphasis on competence gained through work experience in the discipline
• Security-sensitive position: all applicants are subject to a criminal background check under South Texas College policy
