The Aggregate Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of both fixed and mobile machinery commonly utilized in an aggregate production facility. This role also emphasizes the importance of maintenance and repair proficiency for fixed equipment.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $43.20

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily inspections of plant machinery, mobile equipment, and the facility to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations aimed at maximizing production and minimizing downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records related to safety, production metrics, and maintenance activities.
  • Operate a variety of heavy machinery, including loaders, haul trucks, and water trucks.
  • Engage in repair and maintenance tasks, such as screen changes, conveyor belt adjustments, crusher line modifications, and perform cutting, grinding, and welding as necessary.
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.

Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Familiarity with aggregates and construction materials, including sand, gravel, and crushed rock.
  • Knowledge and experience with various aggregate plant machinery (crushers, wash plants, conveyors, material washers, and other fixed and mobile equipment used in the aggregate sector).
  • Understanding of production processes, materials storage, handling, and distribution of aggregates.
  • Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Physical capabilities: ability to use various hand tools, work in adverse weather conditions, and lift/move up to 100 lbs., including climbing, walking, and standing.
  • Ability to routinely lift and/or move 75 lbs. and occasionally 100 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in both wet and dry conditions, as well as extreme temperatures.
  • Current MSHA training certification is preferred.
  • Experience in welding and cutting is a plus.
Employment Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and background verification. Some positions may necessitate ongoing drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
