The Aggregate Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of both fixed and mobile machinery commonly utilized in an aggregate processing facility. This role also encompasses maintenance and repair tasks for fixed equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Compensation

$43.20 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily inspections of plant and mobile equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations, aimed at maximizing production and minimizing downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records related to safety, production, and maintenance activities.
  • Operate a range of heavy machinery, including loaders, haul trucks, and water trucks.
  • Engage in repair and maintenance tasks, such as screen changes, conveyor belt adjustments, and crusher line modifications, including cutting, grinding, and welding as necessary.
  • Interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.

Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Familiarity with aggregates and construction materials, including sand, gravel, and crushed stone.
  • Knowledge and experience with various aggregate plant equipment, such as crushers, wash plants, conveyors, and other fixed and mobile machinery used in the industry.
  • Understanding of production processes and related aspects of materials storage, handling, and distribution.
  • Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to use hand tools, work in various weather conditions, and lift/move up to 100 lbs., as well as climbing, walking, and standing.
  • Able to routinely lift and/or move 75 lbs. and occasionally lift 100 lbs.
  • Capable of working in both wet and dry conditions, as well as extreme temperatures.
  • Current MSHA training certification is preferred.
  • Experience in welding and cutting is advantageous.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and background check. Some positions may necessitate ongoing drug and alcohol testing as regulated by FMCSA.
